Updated

Laurel Highlanders Pipes & Drums is a community and competition band representing Westmoreland County and the Laurel Highlands of western Pennsylvania. John Duxbury Jr. established the band in 1975, naming it for the region and its mountain laurel.

The band wears Douglas tartan and performs at parades and community events. Its members have also competed across the eastern United States and Canada. The organization welcomes new pipers and drummers and provides instruction for people learning either instrument.
